The mobilizing effects of political media consumption among external voters

Abstract This study examines political media consumption among non-resident citizens, and whether following politics in traditional social their country of residence origin has a mobilizing effect on voting origin-country elections. The topic our is inspired by the trend towards increased enfranchisement external improved methods for participation from abroad, transformation landscape with enhanced possibilities voters to follow origin. Based survey directed stratified random sample Finnish citizens 15 countries, we find that politically oriented substantially increases likelihood participating elections this holds channels as well media. A corresponding is, however, not found residence. demonstrates value relevant information participation.
